Joseph Highmore (British, 1692-1780) Oil on Canvas, "Portrait of Lady Tynte", H 14" W 12" | Unsigned. Feigned oval composition. Half-length portrait of a young woman wearing a white dress and blue cape. Part of a set of three portraits sold by Frost & Reed, London. the sitters, of which this is one, were: Jane, Mrs. Fortescue Tynte. Grace Tynte, afterwards wife of Arthur Tremayne. Mary Tynte, daughter of Sir. Halswell Tynte. Frost & Reed label on verso with registered number of 7920. Having a modern giltwood frame, H 20.75", W 18.5". Provenance: Collection of Peter B. Frantz (1921-2019). By family descent.

Condition Report: Canvas trimmed and relined. Minor canvas repair with in painting at the neck. Stabilized craquelure with inpainting at the neck as well.
