The lid centered by the Austro Hungarnian coat of arms, containing 32 photographs of the city of Brunn to honor Gustav Winterholler (the then Mayor for Life) of the city. Provenance: Property from The McNally Company Antiques, Rancho Santa Fe, California.Footnote: Joseph Kunzfeld was the prominent Moravian photographer of the period. This collection of photographs was commissioned for an 1890 celebration to honor Gustav Winterholler (the then Mayor for Life) of the city of Brunn, an important city of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The photographs concentrate predominantly on the imposing municipal buildings and public works of the city of Brunn.
Condition Report: Each photograph is set on stiff board, framed with decorative mat lines. Photos are approximately 12" x14" Significant scuffing and loosening present to the box, minor age-toning throughout the photographs.
