Suite of 3 engravings after Joseph VERNET (1714 - 1789) , proofs on vellum paper with etching and burin by Louis Jacques CATHELIN (1732 - 1804) in Paris at L'Auteur. Estimated at the end of the 18th century. Dedicated to the Marquis de Marigny.
Themes: Morning - Midday - Evening. Engravings in very good condition - some scattered foxing, large margins, no tears or holes, very readable text and coat of arms. (See photos) . Dimensions of engravings: approximately 47. 5 (48) x 59. 5 cm - old frames with thin glass 74. 5 x 58. 5 cm. Weight approximately 3. 3 kg each.
For the record: "Monsieur the Marquis de Marigny is the brother of Madame de Pompadour. He was superintendent of buildings and gardens during the reign of Louis XV, in charge of the maintenance and renovation of palaces and royal residences. " Coming from the same collection for 150 years.
