The rear label documents a provenance that appears to read Painted by Sir Joshua Reynolds circa 1753 from the collection of Adolph Hickshire and inherited by Mrs. Kjeldean then acquired by Mrs. Weisl in 1912. Purchased at the auction of the estate of Palm Beach socialite Christy Ann Weisl many decades ago. Dirty and has a darkened varnish, uneven coloring, some craquelure, some scratches, frame displays some wear. Stretchers measure 30.5 X 25 inches.
