Jozef Hoevenaar Wzn. Dutch painter Utrecht 1840-1926. Was taught by his father W. P. Hoevenaar. Painted genre scenes and still lifes. He was also a drawing teacher and taught A. H. C. Briët, G. J. Bos, W. L. Wijmans. Exhibitions in Amsterdam, The Hague and Leeuwarden of 1869-1903. This painting was painted in the year of his death and possibly his last work. Beautifully decorated with copper objects, 18th century glass and flowers, possibly jasmine, in a vase.
