Oil on hardboard 46 x 55 cm, signed on the lower right corner and titled and signed on the back. The frame is not included on the sale, but it will be sent as a gift. Juan Bayón Salado was born in Logroño on June 24th, 1913. He died in Bilbao on the 2nd of April, 1995. In 1918 he moved to Bilbao. He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts of Bilbao. His teachers were Don Federico Sáenz and Don Angel Larroque, until May 1936. 1941. He held his first exhibition in Bilbao. 1942. He exhibited in Zaragoza, where for the first time he used the pseudonym Bay Sala in the signature of his works; that same year he also exhibited in Logroño and Bilbao. 1943. He attended the Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes with the painting Puerto de Motrico, and held exhibitions in Barcelona and Bilbao. 1945. He attended the Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes with the painting La Mina Abandonada. That same year, he presented himself to the first Exposición Provincial de Bellas Artes with the works Riberas Frondosas and La Mina Abandonada, and he obtained the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Bilbao. From that date onwards he did not participate in any other contest. 1945. Founding member of the Asociación Artística Vizcaína. 1948. Exhibition 35 Paisajes Vascos at the Witcomb Gallery of Buenos Aires. He also made his presentation in Madrid. In the spring of 1950 he left for Paris and he used the pseudonym Jean Salabet during the 1950s, signing his paintings "J. Salabet". He settled his residence in Paris until the end of 1969. During those 20 years, he not only exhibited regularly in Paris, but he held exhibitions in Madrid and Bilbao. In 1968 he held exhibitions in Tokyo and Paris. He was invited to take part at the 16th and 17th Toile Salon in Paris, hanging his works alongside those of Jean Cocteau, Dalí, Raoul Dufy, Picasso, Utrillo Vlaminck, etc. . . with a total of 35 artists. As of 1969, when he returned for good to Bilbao, he regularly held exhibitions, as well as in Madrid and Barcelona; he also spent long periods painting in The Netherlands, France, Italy, the USSR, Belgium and Ireland. In 1984 he was awarded with the Gold Palette of the Nervión. In 1985 he was invited to the exhibition "Maestros Actuales de la Pintura Española" for the inauguration of the gallery The Embassy, in Miami, Florida. In 1991 he was appointed Honorary Fellow of the Asociación Artística Vizcaína. NOTE: The painting will not be sent to Taiwan because it contains wood.
