Antique hammered silver chalice by Abraham Rothschild. Historically, Rothschild is a well-known name. Provided with a personal engraving and various hallmarks. The graceful chalice has floral motifs. Hallmarks with crescent moon for the silver sign, the imperial crown for Germany and 800 for the silver content. The crown and 800 are partly worn away but still somewhat visible (see photo 10) . Engraving: Widmet in grateful Erinnerung Herrn Abraham Rothschild von der isr Gemeinde Alsfeld 1922. Background information: Mr Abraham Rothschild (born 10-04-1851, died 20-05-1924) was husband of Hannchen Rothschild-Goldschmidt (born 02-03-1859, died 14-07-1924) Mr Abraham Rothschild is buried at the Jewish cemetery of Angerod, Germany (see photos 21 to 23) . Condition: Some normal signs of use in accordance with the age. Entirely in authentic condition. No damage or repairs. A few scratches here and there, nothing disturbing. Photos are an integral part of the description. Dispatch: Lot will be carefully packaged and shipped registered (track & trace) and insured.
