BARBEY D'AUREVILLY (Jules) A nameless story. Paris, Society of Bibliophile Physicians, 1922. 1 quarto volume (280 x 190 mm) , midnight blue morocco (binding with slipcase signed Yseux, successor to Thierry Simier) , decorated ribbed spine, gilt title, gilt fillets and interlacing framing the covers and repeated inside, plaque of engraved copper encrusted in the first cover (illustration p. 83) , double gilt fillet on the cuts and the caps, center of the contreplats and facing endpapers in red silk, all gilt edges (on witnesses in gutter and at the foot) , covers and spine preserved, 170 pages. Case slightly rubbed at the bottom. Very good state. Edition of 150 copies, this one numbered 26, and specially printed for Adolphe Olivier. The illustrations are in two states and one of the engravings in 10 states with handwritten remarks. Book illustrated with 12 compositions engraved with etching by Auguste-François Gorguet, and 5 facsimile manuscript sheets. Copy enriched with 44 original charcoal drawings, some heightened with white, sent by the artist to Dr Olivier. Also enriched with a set of letters concerning this work, addressed to Dr Olivier, on behalf of: Auguste-François, Omer Bouchery, Alphonse Lemerre, Louis Read. . . Very nice copy.
