Superb copy of great freshness, without stain or foxing of the first edition illustrated with 140 vignettes on wood drawn by H. Giacomelli. Copy on China paper, number 37 of 50, bound with all its margins from an edition of 50 China. (Vicar V, 834) .

Binding in polished garnet half-morocco with corners, spine with 5 raised bands, gilded author and title, boxes decorated with small irons, double gilt fillet on the covers, gilded head, spine uniformly and slightly faded in old rose, corners and caps a little rubbed.
