Jules Moigniez, (French 1835 -1894), a gilt bronze group of ground nesting birds with chicks
Jules Moigniez, (French 1835 -1894), a gilt bronze group of ground nesting birds with chicks, last quarter 19th century, naturalistically portrayed, the oval base caast with rocks and foliage and inscribed J. Moigniez in the maquette, above ribbed and waisted edging
16cm high, 21cm wide
Condition Report: The gilt surfaces are worn, dirty and darkened overall. The bronze might have been lacquered at some point to preserve the gilding -if this is the case the lacquer has 'gone off' and the colour beneath is dark -although not unattractive. he bronze would perhaps benefit greatly from a gentle overall clean
The catalogue and online images do give a realistic and genuine representation of the piece
Otherwise, good order overall
