Jules Van de Leene (Elsene, 1887 - Oudergem, 1962) He was a watercolourist, painter and had a preference for marines, portraits and landscapes. Initially, his preference was for watercolour painting. He has a fairly realistic painting style with a certain sense of the play of light. He was also active in the Netherlands for some time (1912-1913) and admired Frans Hals and Vermeer in particular. From 1919 to 1922 he spent several months in France every year. From 1927 onwards he stayed permanently in the Netherlands. The watercolour / gouache is in a wooden frame, behind glass. The work itself is 51 x 64 cm in size. It is in overall good condition, there are just some traces of use to the frame.
