Quality frame in wood, it presents minor scratches. Signed on the lower right corner Born in Sant Esteve d’en Bas in 1926, he studied fine arts in Olot (Girona, Spain) and as of 1950 he worked as a teacher of perspective and artistic drawing. He started to paint at the young age of 13, and he is a “pesebrista” (Dioramas) since his youth. He was awarded in different provincial competitions and he obtained the silver medal of the School of Fine Arts of Olot and the first prizes of artistic Nativity scenes in the years 1950, 1952 and 1953 in Olot and Bilbao. He belonged to the movement of the landscape school of Olot, formed by a group of artist painters who started a pictorial style in the second half of the 19th century. Including all those artists who had taken as a source of inspiration Olot’s landscape for their works, executed with a total freedom of trend, style and technique. By extension, al the artist from the Garrotxa region are included in this group.
