Pink Oabl Series 01 Unique Piece - 2020 Tray Handmade in Paris Custom metal structure produced in the Paris region Removable trays in clay cement, mass-dyed, textile fibers, matte varnish Structure in white lacquered steel Frame 1: Height 45cm x Diameter 45cm Frame 2: Height 40cm x Diameter 40cm for About / The first idea in the design of the pieces is a return to the full involvement of the designer as much in the conceptualization of objects, the search for unique materials as in the realization as such. This is why each of the tables is a unique piece specially designed by hand and made by myself. It was the very idea of a small production, a slow design that interested me. Rematerialize / The natural material, input raw material of the creation process I started with an exploratory phase by creating my own material using a subtle mixture of clay, straw fiber to which I added natural textile fibers, sand, water and various natural pigments. I intervene by casting different mixtures in previously defined colored ranges in order to compose sets. Material efficiency / material strength, one step without baking step Clay cement interested me in the development of my collection because it is a natural material which is neutral for the environment: it does not require any cooking operation, nor clinker like the high carbon footprint cements used commonly in architecture and urban planning. The additives such as the textile fibers used provide the material with all its solidity during drying. This drying phase is done in the open air and lasts between three and five days. The modular object / A unique piece to compose and recompose Each of the white lacquered steel tray supports was made to measure by a partner craftsman close to the place of creation of my material. These monochrome aerial supporting structures are worked in a form of minimalism and economy of material, ensuring the functionality of the object. The idea of a modular element with removable trays interested me as a response to a durable object that can be recomposed over time.
