Ocher Pebble Series 01 Unique piece - 2021. Tray, handmade in Paris, stamped on the back of the tray. Made-to-measure metal frame produced in the Paris region. Clay extracted in the Vendée. Removable tray made of clay cement, dyed in the mass, textile fibres, matt varnish. White lacquered steel frame. Height: 45 cm x Diameter: 45 cm Info: The main idea behind the design of the pieces is the designer's return to full involvement in the conceptualisation of the objects, the search for unique materials and in the actual production. This is why each of the tables is a unique piece, specially designed and handmade by me. It was the very idea of a small production, of a slow design that interested me. Rematerialise / The natural material, raw material for the creative process. I began with an exploratory phase by creating my own material based on a subtle mixture of clay, straw fibre to which I added natural textile fibres, sand, water and various natural pigments. I proceed by pouring the different mixtures into previously defined colour ranges in order to compose the sets. Material efficiency / material strength, one step without firing step Clay cement interested me in developing my collection because it is a natural material that is neutral for the environment: it does not require any firing process, nor clinker like the high carbon footprint cements commonly used in architecture and urbanism. The additives such as the textile fibres used give the material its strength when it is dry. This drying process takes place in the open air and takes between three and five days. The modular object / A unique piece to compose and recompose Each of the white lacquered steel tray supports was made to measure by a partner craftsman close to where my material was created. These airy monochrome structures are worked according to a form of minimalism and economy of material, ensuring the functionality of the object. The idea of a modular element with removable trays interested me as a response to a durable object that can be recomposed over the course of time.
