Julian Barrow is known for realist rural and city buildings and landscape painting. He was born in Cumberland, England but has lived most of his life in London. He studied in Florence and is an inveterate traveler, painting views in London, New York, the Middle East and India. For more than thirty years he has lived in his studio on Tite Street in Chelsea in the building formerly occupied at various times by Sargent, Whistler, Glyn Philpot and Augustus John. Barrow has been a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy and is President of the Chelsea Arts Society.
