Most collectors would be proud to have any copy of JLA #1, but one discerning collector is going to pick up this top-of-CGC's-chart copy that has a leg up on its other challenger (the one other NM+ 9.6 copy on the census) in that it has been granted a QES sticker indicating that this copy has superior eye appeal for the assigned 9.6 grade! CGC has certified almost 1,400 copies of this issue to date, with less than 4% earning a grade as high as a VF 8.0. A bright and sharp-looking copy, with great printing registration that's so seldom seen on copies of this particular issue. The book contains the origin and first appearance of Despero is contained inside the Murphy Anderson cover. Mike Sekowsky handled the interior art chores. The issue features appearances by Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, and the Martian Manhunter, and is currently the #18 book on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics.
