Very rare sea chart of the St. Lawrence River, with the main chart extending from Quebec City in the west to the western tip of Anticosti Island in the east. 5 inset charts cover the mouth the Saguenay, Havre St Nicolas, Les Sept Isles, the approach to Quebec City showing the eastern end of Isle d'Orleans, as well as a full-width continuation chart at the bottom showing the river from Quebec City westwards to Lake Ontario, centred on the Isle de Montreal. The present lot comes from De Nieuwe Groote Lichtende Zee-Fakkel, Part IV. Koeman mentions this map as first appearing in the 1734 edition (Keu 113 B, map 39).

Engraved double-page map, coloured by a contemporary hand, verso blank, 5 inset charts, 6 compass roses with intersecting rhumb lines, 530 x 610mm (plate mark), 538 x 640 (sheet).
