KIM BASINGER AND RICHARD GERE
Scene from Phil Joanou’s film “Final Analysis” (Hot Blood for Cold-Blooded Murder), 1992.
Photograph, vintage RC print, credits below the image, annotated on the back.
25.3 x 20.2 cm including borders.
Note: Richard Gere plays Isaac Barr, a San Francisco psychiatrist treating Diana Baylor, played by Uma Thurman. When he meets Heather Evans, his patient’s sister played by Kim Basinger, he begins a passionate affair with her and finds himself gradually drawn into a murder case involving psychological manipulation, jealousy, and deception. Richard Gere also served as the film’s executive producer. With its enigmatic heroine, its unsettling atmosphere, and the emphasis placed on San Francisco’s settings, this thriller draws a clear connection to the films of Alfred Hitchcock—particularly *Vertigo*—a comparison noted by several critics upon its release.
