KING COMICS 1967 Popeye the Sailor No. 85
Popeye the Sailor No. 85 is a lively Silver Age King Comics issue featuring the legendary spinach-loving sailor in a classic humorous adventure cover scene. The bright yellow cover, exaggerated cartoon expressions, and playful “voodoo doll kit” imagery capture the energetic style of mid-1960s American comic publishing. Popeye remains one of the most iconic newspaper and animated cartoon characters of the twentieth century, originally created by E. C. Segar and later adapted into numerous comic-book series by King Comics. This issue displays the bold, colorful cover design and slapstick humor that made Popeye comics enduring favorites among younger readers and collectors alike. The dramatic comic-code-era artwork, combined with the nostalgic King Comics branding, makes this an attractive collectible for fans of classic animation, vintage humor comics, and pop-culture Americana. A charming surviving example from the Silver Age era of licensed character comics. Shows tear on cover page.
