A perfect blend of adventure, science fiction and horror, King Kong is the ultimate monster movie. Willis O'Brien's use of stop-motion effects was ground breaking for the time, and remains legendary. The film blew audiences away and broke all previous box-office records.

This Italian poster was designed for a short re-release of the film in 1961. The artist has created a powerful image, using a strong red background to frame the menacing King Kong. The typography on the wording 'King Kong' also ties in with the furry Kong ! This film only received a short re-release, and very few of these posters are known to have survived.
