Probably the Netherlands, 17th century.
Faceted wooden pommel with a pierced gallery enclosing a ball, surmounted by the bust of a monk wearing a habit. Riveted and twisted gold filigree decoration. Round iron ferrule. Blade tapering to a point on the cutting edge.
L 25 cm.
Decoration partly incomplete. Blade somewhat worn from sharpening, with minor corrosion.
