KPM Plaque of Ruth
A 19th Century KPM Porcelain Plaque of "Ruth" or "The Gleaner". After the work by Charles Landelle (French, 1821-1908), the woman is depicted in three quarter length in a wheat field, she wears a white head covering part of her hair and a grey gossamer gown whilst holding a bunch of wheat in her left arm. Unsigned. Impressed with scepter and "KPM" and Franz Xavier Thallmaier "Frz X Thallmaier Munchen" label verso. Panel appears to be in good condition. Panel is 10" x 15 5/8" high, within an ornate gilt wood and gesso frame with some damage; both have been contained within a simple wood frame which measures 21" x 26 1/2" high overall.
