An unusual piece, a box camera and case, both bearing the logo of the N.S. Gemeinschaft "Kraft durch Freude" program. The "Box-Tengor" camera was made by Zeiss Ikon in Dresden and is complete with instruction booklet and leather case with carrying strap. "Kraft durch Freude" (German for "Strength through Joy") was a state-operated leisure organization in Nazi Germany and part of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront, the national German labor organization. Set up as a tool to promote the advantages of National Socialism to the people, it had become the world's largest tourism operator by the 1930s.
