The samurai seems to stumble over a woman crawling on the floor behind him. - Two PENTIMENTI, one showing the samurai's shoulder part in a lower position than in the initial version which is revealed when lifting the pentimento. Another correction was made to the samurai's head. - Such preparatory drawings by the artists' own hands are EXTREMELY RARE! - Guaranteed to be genuine! - Provenance: Kuniyoshi' studio.
