Note:
Karel Appel gifted this palette to his friend (and well known photographer) Nico Koster in the 1970s. When visiting the artist's studio, Koster was impressed by the palette Appel had created with his - almost 'Pollock'-way of layering paint and other materials on his mixing tables, and asked Appel to sign the newly created artwork for him.
