Discover his world. . . Karl Lagasse - ‘One Dollar’. Since 2009, Karl Lagasse has been making a name for himself with his One Dollar sculptures. During the same year, he was ranked among the top ten sculptors in the world under the age of 30. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him one of the top fifty contemporary artists who drew their inspiration from traditional American icons in his book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, 2016 at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic personally congratulated Karl for the success of his 2-metre One Dollar made of bronze exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris. 2017 - Creation of the Deauville American Film Festival Trophy. In 2017, the Deauville American Film Festival decided to call on Karl Lagasse to create its Trophy. It is from his monumental work "Cryptogramme One" that the artist was inspired to create the trophies for the 43rd edition of the Festival which will be awarded to the winners. Made of polished cast aluminium, this work of art lets you guess some messages on its four sides "Hope", "7th Art", "Deauville". A total of 13 trophies were awarded during the Festival, including the Hommages and the Prix du Jury.
