Kashgai Kashgüli Single Bag Face South West Iran, circa 1880 The indigo field centred by a typical madder stepped gül, the spandrel with flowerheads and zoomorphic motifs enclosed by narrow compartmentalised borders and barber poles, 53cm by 54cm
Condition Report:
. The bag is unusal in having a different upper border to the outer three. The pile section is complete but shows light wear in places. Selvedges are original but faying and binding cords missing in small sections. Flatwoven fastening sections are complete. Flatwoven back complete.
