Kasia Młodecka (b. 1984), Elf, 2018
acrylic on canvas, 120 x 40 cm
She works in the fields of painting, printmaking, and applied art. She uses, among other media, watercolor, acrylic, and linocut, combining figurative elements with organic, often psychedelic forms and intense color. Her work stems from her personal experience of the disintegration and recomposition of identity, as well as her search for her own spiritual and artistic language. She focuses on emotions, relationships, memory, the body, the soul, and the boundary between reality and the subtle world. After years of working as a legal advisor, she left that career path to focus on art. She develops her craft independently through intensive self-study, courses, workshops, and collaboration with experienced mentors. She experiments with techniques and media with great excitement, and finds the greatest joy in her explorations, her own discoveries, and in reaching new milestones and overcoming her own limitations in her artistic practice.
