**** Beautiful piece **** Very beautiful Katana from the Muromachi period (1333-1573) , attributed to the "Kai-Mihara" school from the province of Bingo. The school includes a considerable number of blacksmiths, but there are few distinguished blacksmiths and their manufacture does not show much particularity. Some works are recognised for the softness that certain blades inspire. There is also a term "Kai-Mihara" which is used for school blacksmiths who were active at the end of the Muromachi period, for example "Mihara Ju Kai Masazane". This blade is in excellent condition, it is in old polishing, its Hamon Sugu-haba is relatively understated, thus inspiring calm and wisdom. This sword is accompanied by an original certificate of judgment (kicho) from the NBTHK (Nihon bijutsu token hozon kyokai) , society for the preservation and registration of Japanese swords, thus guaranteeing its authenticity, its origin and its attribution to the school. There are some scratches and wear present (please see the photos) . The sword is well maintained in its protective sheath (Shirasaya) . The blade shape is Shinogi zukuri. Dimensions / weight: Hacho (blade length) : 66. 7 cm Sori (curve) : 1. 0 cm Motomihaba : 3. 2 cm Motokasane : 6. 9 mm Sakimihaba : 2. 38 cm Sakikasane : 5. 6 mm Nakago (handle length) : 16. 1 cm Weight of the blade alone (approx.) : 718 g Total weight of the blade with the Shirasaya (approx.) : 1,029 g Total length with the Shirasaya : 86. 8 cm Delivery: Careful shipping, insurance included.
