**** Very beautiful piece **** Reserved for the prestigious sale of Japanese antiques **** Sublime Katana from the Muromachi period attributed to "Osafune Sukesada". Many artisans have used the name Sukesada throughout the history of the Japanese forge, most of them in Bizen and contributing to the development of several schools in this province. Among these is the Sue-Bizen tradition, active from the middle to the end of the Muromachi period and whose origins date back to several ramifications of the mother school of Osafune created in the 13th century. After almost 500 years, this katana remains a historic object of great value, demonstrating despite the tumult of the Sengoku period, the last sparks of know-how from the ancestral tradition of Bizen. Many sabers forged during the Eisho-Daiei eras (1504-1528) are known to be of exceptional quality. This saber is accompanied by two original certificates of judgment (high level Hozon) from the NBTHK (Nihon bijutsu token hozon kyokai) , one for the Koshirae and the other for the blade. The NBTHK is a large Japanese saber preservation and registration company. This guarantees the authenticity of the blade and its respective Koshirae, as well as its origin and its attribution to the blacksmith. The general condition is excellent, the blade is in old polishing, there are very few scratches (please see the photos) . Please appreciate the absolutely sublime Hamome Gunome midare of this blade, it gives an even deeper aspect to the inner beauty of the sword.
