(We divide each sword in four sections like Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku) This sword belongs to the ranking of Jyo Jyo Saku. The blade is polished. Blade length Nagasa: 61. 5 cm or 24. 22 inch Sori: 1. 3 cm Mekugi: 1 Era: Showa 19 years (1944) Shape: wide and thick Katana with Large Sori. Kissaki Jigane: Ko-Itame Hada has a good grain with Jinie attach. Hamon: Nie Deki, Gunome Midare with Ashi. In Ha there are Sunagashi and fine Kinsuji. Boshi is Midarekomi style. Details: His real name is Kondo Tsutomu, born 28 July 1918, lived and worked in Tosa prefecture. He initially studied with Kurihara Akihide in 1940 and became one of his best students. He was later allowed to use Aki in his signature, which was a great honour and meant a lot because Akihide is a legend, one of the greatest masters (national treasure) . The signature he used was Shikoku Saburou Minamoto Akikuni, with this sword as well. Shikoku Saburo means river (one of the most beautiful in Japan, and very clean as well) . This sword is very special, made in 1944, the blade mentions that Akikuni forged it on Akagi Mountain, a first-rate masterpiece. His swords are of superior quality (Cutting test category) . A unique Japanese samurai sword, much sought-after, rarely found by real collectors. Akikuni was one of the best swordsmiths of his time, he won many awards and was even praised by the emperor.
