Signed "Käthe Kollwitz" in pencil l.r., signed by the printer in pencil l.l., identified on a writing fragment affixed to the backing. Etching and drypoint printed in brown/black ink on paper, plate size 5 1/2 x 3 7/8 in. (14.0 x 9.9 cm), framed.
Condition: Gentle toning, not examined out of frame.

Out of the frame the sheet measures 12 3/4 x 9 1/2 in., with deckled left and lower edges. The work is hinged at the upper corners (verso) and tacked down in one spot along both side margins (recto) so the margins cannot be viewed. There are uneven creases (some within the image) and the sheet is evenly toned (recto and verso). There is staining, glue, and hinging residue along the upper and left edges verso.
