The KAWS: Holiday series made Indonesia its 10th stop and resulted in a monumental exhibition located next to the marvelous 9th century Prambanan temples.
Nestled in the historic city of Yogyakarta in South Java, Prambanan is Indonesia's largest Hindu temple complex and a treasured UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the unveiling of KAWS: Holiday, KAWS offers a refreshing experience to visitors by combining contemporary art with ancient architecture.
This is also the first time during KAWS' 6-year tour to feature "ACCOMPLICE", a design originally released in 2002 as a vinyl figure. Spanning 45 meters in length, the rabbit-shaped ACCOMPLICE now also sets the record for the artist's largest sculpture to date.
“I am honored to have my sculpture exhibited in Indonesia, where it can be enjoyed by the public and become part of the country's vibrant cultural landscape. Art has the power to bring people together and inspire meaningful connections, and I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to that through my work,” said KAWS.
