Ken Battefield (20th Century)
Ken Battefield and Robert Webb Fight Comics #73 Tiger Girl Story Page 8 Original Art (Fiction House, 1951). Heroic Tiger Girl finds herself at a mortal disadvantage while battling a mob of jewel thieves. The character is a variant of Fiction House's anchor-character, Sheena, Queen of the Jungle. The documented presence of the Iger Studio's Battefield appears to cover the pencil compositions. The unbilled presence of Robert Webb (de facto art director for studio boss S.M. "Jerry" Iger) is unmistakable in the animals' aspect, and in the finer facial details. Twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.25" x 18". Slight/moderate toning, with corner-creasing and a small tear at lower edge. Blue-pencil editorial markings. Very Good condition. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
