With the combination of a colourful, but comparatively subtle complexion, a sparsely decorated field panel and a 'broken' border with flower branches, this is an unusual, attractive Kashan. The base in ivory with its unusual, madder red medallion is surrounded by a frame in pistachio green which emphasises the angular medallion and is designed with the precision and detail necessary for a 'fair field' scheme. The dark blue border provides an expressive contrast consisting of various vivid and colourfully arranged branches, leaves and rosettes. An exceptional velvety soft Kashan made of cork on cotton.
