History of Maker: Kienzle began manufacturing clocks in the late 19th century. Like their contemporary Aug. Schatz & Sohne, Kienzle made a variety of clocks including the 400-day clock. In 1929 the company sold its 400-day clock tools and dies to its factory’s foreman, Karl Kern, who went on to start a company of his own.
