Unique and rare Japanese Silk Kimono with mother of pearl shell luxurious decoration, designed by famous artist Taizo Kai Raden refers to the technique of setting fragments of mother of pearl in the lacquer shell, wood, etc. It also refers to the handicraft produced with this technique. Kai is a very great Raden artisan. The mother of pearl is glued on Japanese paper. The mother of pearl is then cut very carefully. As a result the mother of pearl applied on the kimono's exterior can bend without breaking. It requires a very high level of skill. The mother of pearl is enriched with gold coloured decorations to make the whole design (which represents flowers, pine trees, flowing water, waves, etc.) even more opulent. It is rare to find a kimono with so much mother of pearl. A true masterpiece that concentrates the artisan's skill and combines the mother of pearl and the kimono wonderfully.
