Kirman

Kirman is the capital of the province of the same name in southern Iran. The carpet tradition is very old here. Since the Safavid era under King Shah-Abbas I (1587-1629) , the carpets have also been knotted by commercial carpet weavers. Since then, the population in Kirman and the approximately 30 surrounding villages have lived primarily from carpet production. The Kirman carpet is generally characterized by its very fine pile material, combined with an extremely rich floral pattern. Like this palace carpet, where one can speak of a unique piece due to its pattern.
