Kirstie Macleod, Venezuelan 1981- Lacrimosa, 2011; mixed media, light box, 66x83cm Provenance: Private Collection, London Note: Kirstie MacLeod is a contemporary Venezuelan-born artist, who produces work in a variety of media. The present piece is from the project Lacrimosa, which involved her being attached to the bed of the Guernsey Sea with a dress constructed from fishing line, and which this photograph records. This work therefore illustrates the interdisciplinary approach which defines MacLeod’s work, combining photography with her passion for textiles, and her interest in performance art. MacLeod’s works have been shown across the world, including at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, the Jules Maeght Gallery in San Francisco, the Museo de Arte Popular in Mexico City, and at the National Library of Kosovo.
