Alfred Drake and Patricia Morison in a New Musical Comedy "Kiss Me Kate", music and lyrics by Cole Porter, book by Sam and Bella Spewack, [opening Dec. 30, 1948; closing July. 28, 1951]. The playbill contains many interesting advertisements. Chesterfield cigarettes advertising by Bob Hope is on the back cover.

The original envelope with the ticket dated June 29, 1949, Matinee is included in this lot.

Soft cover, 6.1/2" x 9" [the covers have some small edge damages: see pictures]; 40 pages including advertising, very good condition.

Two divorced - and flamboyantly egocentric - performers find themselves starring opposite each other in a musical version of Taming of the Shrew in Cole Porter and Sam and Bella Spewack's tribute to the theater, in all its greasepaint and glory.
