Item/Description: Ukiyo-e woodblock panel from Utamaro's triptych "Woman Overnight Guests", beautiful and stylish courtesans of the "green houses". Painted frame with carved corner detail.
Kitagawa Utamaro (Japan, 1753 - 1806) was considered the prominent ukiyo-e artist of the late 18th century. His early work focused on actor portraits and theater programs. He gained immense fame for his single portraits of idealized females in his beautiful women series.

Material: Wood block print framed under glass.

Dimensions: Image size: Height: 10 1/4"; Width: 6 3/4". Framed: Height: 19 1/2"; Width: 15".

Condition: Surface wear and smudges to frame. Art not examined out of frame.

Age: 20th Century.

Provenance: Private Estate.
