Green watermark, with outer self-envelope, sealed, addressed, and postmarked, inscribed over one page, to an unnamed recipient, saying in part, "[Mr. Caputi] wishes me to examine a bronze statue, which he has sent, before it be taken from the Custom House, in order to ascertain whether the probability of selling it for the summ required (100 pounds) will justify payment of the duty; otherwise he wishes it to be returned," toned, many old folds, 10 x 8 in.
