Knoll - Ludwig Mies van der Rohe - Chair (4) - MR10 - Leather, Steel

[ translate ]

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's MR 10 chair was designed in 1927 as part of his contribution to the Weissenhof exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany.
The cantilevered design of the chair uses tubular steel, therefore a technological innovation, to create an ergonomically accessible and intuitive seat.
When asked why he created chairs with generously sized seats, Mies van der Rohe replied that he would design chairs in which it would be more comfortable to sit.
The MR 10 armchair began to be produced by Knoll International in 1967.

The lot presented in this auction consists of 4 chairs produced by Knoll from the 1960s with a chromed steel structure covered with the classic thick black leather.
The conditions of use are very good as the chairs have been used very little. Structures intact and robust with slight traces of oxidation and leather upholstery with only slight marks, also robust and taut.
On one of the 4 chairs there is the knoll adhesive label.

MEASUREMENTS: H 85 / W 45 / D 73 cm

Our company ORVETT includes transport insurance for Italy/Europe in the shipping costs indicated.
For "rest of the world" shipping the cost is indicative. We will formulate a quote once the auction is over according to the destination.
