The artist was born in Suhl in 1957. He acquired his basic technical skills from 1980 to 1984 at the Academy of Graphics and Book Arts in Leipzig. He lives and works near Leipzig. In 2009 he joined the Leipzig Association of Visual Artists as a self-taught artist
which he left in 2021 because of the gender change there. The painter regularly exhibits in several smaller galleries in and around Leipzig. and often works as an artist in residence near Arta.
