Kobi Shahar Flowers in a glass, 2023
Kobi ShaharFlowers in a glass, 2023
Kobi Shahar's solo exhibition "Life in Color" (opened on 10/9/21) Erez Aharon wrote some reflections on realism:
Shahar's works describe intimate encounters between the artist and the subject of his painting at a point in time. Shahar stretches the boundaries of this meeting and creates truths and fictions on the canvas, using rich chromatic colors and unique geometry. And when drawing from observation meets fictional and fantastic realms. Kobi Shahar, a student of Sigal Tsuberi and Israel Hirschberg, remains faithful to the gaze and the visual experience he experiences when observing the object of the painting and conveys this visual experience well to the viewer, the fidelity to the retinal and internal gaze evokes whispers of respect for the way of expression in the painting. The search for light in his paintings is evident and present in all his works.
