Kô’dansu 小棒箪笥 (small cabinet of drawers) - Lacquer, Wood - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)
A wonderful wooden kô’dansu 小箪笥 (small cabinet of drawers) , in one section, with a complete glossy black lacquer finish.
Fully restored, cleaned and waxed.
Configured with 6 drawers of different sizes.
Two of the drawers are equipped with large decorative lock plates engraved with floral motifs.
Matched with slender ‘mokkô’-shaped bail handles. The smooth running drawers are very deep and have a lot of volume, for easy storage.
Each side with ‘warabite’-shaped grip handle (totte) , for easy transport.
Period: Japan – Meiji period (1868-1912) .
Dimensions:
Height 67. 2 cm, Width 62. 5 cm, Depth 32. 4 cm.
It is in a good completely restored condition with some traces of wear conform age, and some traces of use on top. For a clear general condition reference, please look at the photos as well.
