A colorful sketch with a touch of irony and criticism from the everyday life of a variety show, where one of the competitive dancers is caught by the artist while addressing a couple at a table. The artist masterfully manages to present the grotesque eroticism of the heroine and the contrasting elegance of the couple; the quaint atmosphere of smoky rooms. In a few spots of blue, white and black pastels, the outlines of the walls and reality are lost. At the same time, the increased expressive concreteness of the images is conveyed by the nervous line of the contour drawing, brilliantly executed in ink. Paper, dry pastel, ink. 26x17.5 cm.
