Beautiful Koranic board or slate called “Alluha”. They are used to learn the verses of the Koran as well as calligraphy. They are found mainly among the Haussa people of northern Nigeria. The graphics are nice and balanced, executed on both sides of the board. The writings are harmonious. A beautiful work imbued with history which takes us into a mysterious universe. Beautiful old patina of use. The handle is covered in leather. Old slots and gaps at the bottom of the work, the whole is solid. Sold as is. A beautiful old and authentic collector's item.
