Nagashima Mousai is name Yoshitora e(芳虎画) ” in his signature.

Good condition, minor color bleeding (transfer) and wear, folds

A disciple of Yoshitora Utagawa. His surname is Nagashima and his first name is Fukutaro. He is said to be Utagawa Yoshitora(歌川芳虎) son. He first uses the artsign of Toraju(虎重) ,choukarou Yoshiteru(朝華楼芳照) , and Chuikurinsha(竹林舎) , Reisai(麗斎) , and Mousai(猛斎) . His drawing period is said to be from Keio to the Meiji era, and he left Nishiki-e around the Meiji era and lived in Konya-cho, Kanda. He is said to have worked on many toy paintings. In the “3rd National Industrial Exhibition(第三回内国勧業博覧会之図) ” published in 1887, there was a seal of “`shungyō sara (Yoshiteru) choka-rō 春暁更朝華楼芳照) ”, but after that, it was signed as “Nagashima Shungyo”. There is a Nishiki-e. .
