A collection of 7 large glass-paste beads, made locally with ground-up bottles and fired in traditional kilns. Worn by the Ashanti-people of Ghana. On a black glass matrix these large beads are then painted with coloured glass-powder and heated in a kiln. Produced in the region of Kumasi in the 1990-2000nds. Some tiny scratches and cracks are visible on some beads, due to their old age. Collected in the city of Kumasi in the early 2000nds.
